To Those Who Stopped Seeking

Have you spent countless hours awake at night, ravenous for a Word from Me? Or did sleep get to you before you could get on your knees?

"Are you truly seeking my face?
Or did you stop pursuing Me before you even started the chase?
Have you asked and are waiting for Me to answer what you seek?
Only to presume My answer in the next second and say that I never speak.
I have seen you in the season where you first fell in love,
Where braving the risk of rejection was hardly a challenge you’d call tough.
Ohh, how your heart would yearn to see them as ‘the One’,
No other priority took your attention until the final answer had come.
And yet I found that in the pursuit of romantic love was there twice the dedication,
Than you ever took to know Me; where persistence was not worth the revelation.
So did you truly make every effort to seek out My face?
Or did you say it for the sake of getting by My Grace?
Have you braved the pangs of hunger, as you fasted in earnest determination?
Or has it been too high a cost to pay for a fulfilling explanation?
Have you spent countless hours awake at night, ravenous for a Word from Me?
Or did sleep get to you before you could get on your knees?
Have you blocked out every distraction that was designed to distract you from Me?
Or do you prefer entertainment over the truth of eternity, as if it has the power to set you free?
I stand at the gate, with arms open wide, looking for true seekers in this generation,
Who aren’t afraid to seek what is right, even if it appears to others as existential desperation.
Have you asked Me to reveal My Name to you at any point before?
Or were you stalling for time until death comes knocking at your door?
Do you wish to know my Father’s Will over your life?
Then come to Me, all you who are burdened, for My yoke is light.
The heart of your Father yearns to teach His children,
So come to Him in prayer and learn the patience to listen.
His Word will teach you a holy reverence for Him and a hatred for Sin,
It will take your entire lifetime to sanctify you, but your salvation is still given.
For you cannot earn your way into a House where you were born in defiance to its Master’s laws,
Which is why I had to make a way for you to enter, by paying the price of your entry on that cross.
So cast aside the fear that you are unworthy to approach the Father in prayer,
For saving grace has made a way for you to draw near.
Don’t mistake me, my beloved, true righteousness is out of your hands,
I knew that, and yet you are of infinitely more value to me than I expect you to understand.
Everyone chooses a master, this I hope that you believe,
For even those who claim to serve no god, are thus chained to the Prince of Deceit.
Seek my face and I’d test your heart to check your intentions,
Because I come in truth to those who seek me with genuine expectation.
Knock and I will peep through the keyhole of your mind,
You’ve had eyes to see, but the day you find Me, you will no longer be blind.
And so, to those who have stopped seeking,
To those who have given up on finding greater meaning,
To those who have lost the strength to survive till evening,
To those who have walked away from Me, based on your feelings,
To those who find the pleasures of this world far too appealing,
To those who are trapped in harmful vices in the pursuit of emotional healing,
To those who have sought peace in a noose hanging from your bedroom ceiling,
To those who have had grief and fear send your sense of security reeling,
To those who have hurt others, only to find that you are the one left bleeding,
I am He, the God who was, and is, and is to come, the answer to your pleading,
I am He, who created every therapist that has lived, and yet is the only solution for true healing.
I am He, who sees your past and your mistakes, and yet I try to stop you when you are leaving,
I am He, the very God whose name is used as the epitome of disgust in your speech, and yet I’m still listening,
I am He, the One who allows suffering in the lives of those I love, to test the faith of those left grieving,
I am He, the One who waits for those who are still seeking.
I am He, the God you’ll see when your heart stops in your chest,
And on that day, you’ll truly say that I am the God who gave you rest."
