"To them he shared the story of the Shepherd who seeks the broken, As a prodigal son, he promised that love exists, just not the kind they knew then."

"There once was a boy who lived in fear,

Desperate to be loved by all those who were near.

Another award, another perfect grade,

All to see his mother’s smile never fade.

The more he studied, the higher the expectation,

As time passed by, the more he needed a vacation.

If only he could tell his parents to slow down the pace,

To say that he had lost before he could finish the race.

School did not help to build up his dreams,

With friends like his, he never needed enemies.

Why did his teachers care only for equations and algebra?

Forcing him to give up his real talents to learn about Mitochondria.

For a few hours a day, did the boy find some joy,

Accompanied by his wild imagination, he played with his toys,

4 walls and 3 beds was the only safe space he had,

To forget the trials of his day and the friends that drove him mad.

Money is not important, or so they say,

Without it, his family fell apart by the end of the day.

Arguments behind closed doors and the sound of objects thrown to the floor,

Were all heard by the boy who crouching by his bedroom door.

With their assets mortgaged and bankruptcy on its way,

The boy decided to give up his dreams and leave the house someday,

So, studious he would be, with his emotions buried deep,

Locked behind a box labelled ‘Forsaken Dreams’.

With an older brother that excelled in every subject at school,

All eyes were on the boy, who had become another generic mule.

If only they knew that all he really needed was love,

He might never have searched for it through alcohol, women and drugs.

The day came when the bank came to claim,

His family’s house and fortune; even the media didn't spare their name.

For the sins of the Father passed on to the sons,

It was just a matter of time before that day would come.

College was another challenge altogether,

Fueled by hormones, surrounded by birds of a feather.

While the portions were easy, the social expectations were high,

But the worst part of it was coming home to reality every night.

One by one, he dropped his academic specializations,

Being a Lawyer or Chartered Accountant were not under his consideration.

Seeing others shocked that he prioritized his future last,

Made him hurt that once again, that they could not see his heart.

As the boy grew older, his passions grew corrupt,

Focused on sex and drugs, the boy began to push his luck.

Death did not scare him, neither did the costs of pushing the line,

For the boy had been alone for too long to know what was right.

The moment college ended, the boy moved away,

To a state that promised freedom to the chained.

A new house, a new car - what more could he need?

To a boy who had little, these were riches indeed.

But as time went by, the loneliness increased,

The women came and went, so why did he still bleed?

The food was sufficient, the corporate exposure was great,

Yet the boy missed the days where his imagination was untamed.

As the drugs got more serious and the highs more intense,

The boy found himself doing things that made him sick with regret.

Surrounded by people, yet he had never felt so alone,

It was time to go back to the God he had once known.

Kneeling down on his knees, his hands joined together,

The boy asked God why He had left him asunder,

Breaking into a shout, all his feelings finally out in the open,

The unworthy boy sought the God of the hopeless.

10th December, 2019,

Was the day God sent a man to rescue the boy in need.

His sins were exposed, his eyes closed in wonder and shame,

He knew that Jesus was there that night to take away his pain.

2 years passed by, where the boy grew in solitude,

Walking alone with God, had made him a different kind of dude.

His heart was healed, although the scars still behold,

The grief that comes with living in a fallen world.

Day by day, the boy searched for others like him,

A seeker of broken boys and girls, struggling to live.

To them he shared the story of the Shepherd who seeks the broken,

As a prodigal son, he promised that love exists, just not the kind they knew then.

But God had not forgotten about the time,

That the boy hid his dreams in a box he couldn't find.

So He revealed parts of the boy’s lost past,

Reminding him that He created these for His Will to pass.

So that is the story of the dreamer who almost drowned,

A Tale of Hope about - ‘The Boy who Lived amongst the Clouds.’"
